2010 UNAMS Mission

Beginning in 2007, UNAMS carries out a medical mission to Uganda every summer. Officers and members of the Society, together with volunteers travel to Uganda at their own expense and spend anywhere from one to two weeks screening, treating, immunizing and operation on selected patients at a medical facility pre-selected in advance. The recipients of this care do not incur any expense to undergo the care rendered.

The 2010 Medical Mission will take place during the month of July at Bwera General Hospital, in Kasese District, close to the International Border between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The 100-bed hospital is located in the scenic Rwenzori Mountains, about 20 miles southwest of the city of Kasese (pop. 75,000), and about 240 miles on an all-weather tarmac road, west of Kampala, Uganda’s capital.
